Hi Terry and All, Can't disagree with advice others have given, except I would rather come down the South Stratford than go up it. The bywashes are very strong and can knock the boat against then lock entrance. I would also recommend a trip to Gloucester and even down to Sharpness, if you have time. The Avon is now all one trust (ANT) so no separate licences. Wyre Piddle lock moorings downstream, are now much more user friendly and have been recently rebuilt. Sadly the Anchor at Wyre has shut. The Co-op at Pershore is now an ASDA and is a much better shopping experience. Whatever you decide you will have great trip. Regards Andrew. Moored at Pershore - Spent the morning trying to fix the Mikuni. Seems it needs a new motor, said the man from Mikuni. Off to Tewkesbury tomorrow.
