Adrian,

I actually find your comments fail to grasp a simple concept.

Use it or lose it,

It is very simple if more boaters feel the same as yourself then is there
little point to the canals and rivers to try and save them.

I believe this is a measure of a proper boater and not a person that has a boat
or just lives on it for cheap housing.

If people the continous cruises and the genuine people going and trying the C
& R's even if it is a converted ditch, a dead end, can the C &R's be saved?

It might be a surprise to you that I had been trying to get a I*A campaign boat
rally on the Slough Arm for 2011 I failed to achieve due to time.

Before you say that live on a boat and don't do much cruising , Im afraid is
true, but I do go out and do the restoration side, I help to bring the pubic to
understand that they have C&R's on the door step (Little Venice, the National
Festival, trail boat and Campaign rallies that appen around the system).

Actually, I don't.

I once drove to the terminus to see what, if anything, was there. I
was underwhelmed.

<heresy alert> I'm afraid not all waterways are worth the effort of
navigating. Especially almost dead straight ones, to nowhere
particularly interesting, in unattractive surroundings, with the
bottom too near the top.

I think that unless it becomes part of a short cut to the upper
Thames, I may continue to avoid it.
