I'm late to this discussion, but I suspect most boats don't go through the tunnel because they are frightened of getting stuck or doing damage to their boat.
That may be irrational - but an awful lot of fear is. And it's why I've never been through. Obviously you will get more people mooring if there's a pub, but there's lot of us who like isolated rural moorings too as we carry our own beer and don't mind cooking. More reassurance that you can get through, and that even if you can't it's easy to reverse out would probably help persuade many. -- Nigel Stanley [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
