We have found good moorings few and far between on this canal. We normally hack down foliage and get in between the tunnel and the pub where there is metal. After that like you it is after Alvechurch. Much further down the BW.welovereeds.goaway reedbeds are a joke. At one time the managing clown in charge told fishermen that only BW could cut approved openings for fishing. This canal was then and is now run from an office that loves to hang those coir rolls from towpath metal piling to make the canal look like a garden pond.
Incidently we have always found the mooring for Tardebigge services a joke for varied reasons - most of which involve BW renting off chunks of mooring or allowing mates to moor encroching on the service mooring. But the locks are fun - enjoy! --- On Fri, 27/8/10, Brian on Harnser <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Brian on Harnser <[email protected]> > Subject: [canals-list] Re: Harnser Trip Report > To: [email protected] > Date: Friday, 27 August, 2010, 21:27 > Andrew J Instone-Cowie submitted this > idea : > > Brian wrote: > >> We carried on to Kings Norton Junction where we > went straight ahead > >> onto the Birmingham and Worcester canal and into > the 2726 yard Wast > >> Hills tunnel, once back out into the sunshine we > started to look for > >> somewhere to moor which was easier said than done, > much of this canal > >> is very rural with soft banks which makes mooring > with an old dog > >> quite difficult.
