You may be right. There is something basic that I am missing here. Please do point out the flaw(s) in my thinking:
1. whenever executable is just a shell script which has nothing to do with ruby (yet). 2. Once the shell script is loaded, it, in turn, loads the ruby gem. Therefore, it is the system PATH and not the Ruby path that governs success or failure?
