I just noticed that using CALayers in HICocoaView in some ways is broken
in High Sierra. I've filed a bug report <rdar://39607700>, not that I'm
optimistic about a fix, and I might use a DTS incident to ask if there's
a workaround, but I thought I'd ask here on the off chance that someone
knows of a useful trick.
