That's certainly part of it, but only part.

Let me just show you what I'm looking for:

Notice that the image is 1600x1200. That's the size of my screen -- I
haven't cropped anything away!

I produced this by downloading iTerm (0.9.5), popping open a term,
making it full screen, and running console emacs. Of course, the
colors stink in this example, but hopefully it should show you what
I'm aiming for with carbon emacs.
