I think Packet is dead ..mostly. What "activity" do you want ?
If you want to exchange email via packet, using Al's Telpac node will allow you to send email but it essentially will look like your are sending email from Outlook express except it's first "hop" will be via RF to Al's node. If you want to log in to a packet BBS and read amateur radio related bulletins like in the old days , there are not many left but the DX Clusters some time run a fairly good version. However , these have mostly moved to the Internet If you take a look at http://www.northeastflexnet.org/ you will notice that WNy WPA is not part of there coverage area. You can access why is left of the Erie Packet Radio on 145.01 via erit-7 I think. Don't forget HF packet on 30M and some BBS still exist on 20M.
