Hey All;
I wanted to ask if any developers on this list have ever worked with an old
HIS from Orascom. I think it is called Maxc. No one at the hospital could
use a UNIX system, so they knew 0% about their HIS. They only knew it
doesn't work most of the time. it was installed in 1990 or so. It appears
to be programmed in COBOL, using a local repository. The doctors want me to
migrate the data from that to care2x. To be honest, the bigger problem is
that their system only has a tape backup drive, 2GB, no CD, no floppy, and
no network access. It is HP/UX. So, a bigger problem is first getting
files off server. I am searching my contacts for someone who can put the
files on CD if I bring them a 12 year old tape. (they do daily backups
though a terminal, but do not know how to restore). So, after my long
winded explanation, has anyone on the list worked with this HIS in their
career? I know I am vague about information on system, but that is all I
was given. Any hints on how to migrate this 12 year old repository to a
MySQL database?
Second easier question, one of the doctors at the hospital has asked if
care2x PM could be installed at his clinic. He is cardiologist and critical
care doctor. I looked in the CVS to find it, but did not. I know the PM is
still alpha, so it says on website, but I would like to get my hands on it,
if I can. Is it available somewhere?
