Joachim Mollin, I follow some different ways of developement. I look arround the web to find inovative solutions. So i installed a jabber server last year ago to fit only developers need of easy and fast communication. They are external of care2x developement.
One solution was the jabber server. But Jabber have a lot of other advantages because this server is using heavily xml protocoll. This server I installed is able to connect to every jabber server in the world. But you can install it also only for communication inside a hospital or an organisation for intranet use. JPT is a Web-based jabber client designed for wireless terminals - devices such as PDAs, WAP- or iMode-enabled cell phones or so called webpads (device designed only for Web browsing and e-mail). These devices have reduced abilities of running any applications, or can not run any programs at all. There is where the idea of JPT was born. As long, as these devices are able of browsing any sort of World Wide Web, JPT is able to provide a special gateway to Jabber network. JPT is based on an PHP library written by Carlo Zottmann, that is available on http://phpjabber.g-blog.net. The interesting is that you can combine it together with webpages. So the Medicine University of South Carolina is providing a jabber based workflow tool. Sluice this is desinged from the Industry standard. They use it since a long time for the staff inside the combination inside the University. In parts i work close together with Christopher Zorn the developer of sluice. My Idea is to set up a demo again and to add clinical pathways to it. Prof. Starmer the director of the IT Lab is at the moment in france. So i wait his comming back to discuss the possibility of a combination in future. Some screenshots of a workflow: http://bfs.itlab.musc.edu/work_flow/docs/broadcast_flow.htm Why workflow? http://www.dpool.net/fileadmin/TYPO3_Workflow_Engine.pdf See it as a combination.
