Keep a view to different healthcare systems worldwide.

In anglo american systems - i think India arabia and so on the same
structure (i
personally worked only in England some years ago as house officer) you
have one big room at one ward with a lots of beds.
The English situation some years ago was that there are eg for surgery
a lot of consultants. a house officer is not responsible only for one
ward. If a patient comes in the house officer in cassualty is
responsible for this patient. So the patients of a house officer can
be on 4-6 different wards. It took some time to understand this
management of my patients.
The nurses stay at only one ward. So the nurse have to know exactely
which house officer or senior is responsible for this patient.

If you go as officer the ward round you have your patients exactely in
your head. Otherwise the patient have the impression that that Doc
don't know his case. The patient don't trust you if you look everytime
to your notes or make notices via a touchscreen.

I think a small board with results of lab or some special data will be
absolute enough. The input of new or other medication have to be done
not in front of the patient. You realy have to concentrate to the
needs of a patient and to talk with him and not with the computer or
any touchscreen. :-)

So let it be and concentrate to the realy necessary things and not to
the programmers love to make everything directely at pc.

See for example. If you have as consultant a meeting with your
customers you also concentrate to your customer and not to your
computer. Only in special questions you use it for information.

IMHO it is realy nonsense to focus the discussion to pda or phone into
a solution that is necessary in front of a patient.

Realy make it as an easy specialized module with an own Gui. A thing
you are able to make fast notice or get a realy fast information about
special parameters. More important can be the results of a EEG or
something else.
