Oh, I see, the Marien Hospital in Stuttgart (I wonder, is Prof. Gubisch still there?). We are talking about one of the best (wealthiest?) Christian hospitals in Europe.
The digital radiology systems are now running since more than 2 years and we
They have not reached the 3 year critical stage yet. Lets wait and see.
increased several fold. They are producing around 1.5 TeraB annually and is expected to rise to 3 TB in the near future. They have a complete line of digital radiological test devices including digital CT and NMR.
Lets see what the future brings us.
Here is an article about their storage system in PDF. Again in german but you can use google translator. You will see that one xSeries server stores 4 TB
Two IBM x440 with Storage Area Network (SAN) file systems and Suse Linux as OS.
As far as I remember, SAN is based in fibre channel.
What can I say? It surely will be good for IBM business!
and they are clustering these.
I am sure they are. And they will be continuing to do that... at least while the heavy money keeps flowing...
The backup system is an identical system located in a different physical site and which mirrors the primary one.
When money is no object it seems reasonable.
They have UPS systems for the network. The entire hospital itself has two stage power backup system composed of lead-acid battery array and a diesel generator.
That seems ideal. They are quite safe. They are not from this world.
And, ah yes, the hospital is very rich. The admin usually keeps their financial data confidential but in one meeting I once heared that the hospital has an annuall earning in excess of 100 million Euros (could be more). I am sure you dont have any problems with that fact. They do not serve lobster tails in the cafeteria though.
I am sure that it is only because they worry with their personnel's health... and, as everybody knows, lobster is high on cholesterol.
They have contingency plans and the money to pay for it.
They are german, rich and meticulous. What else could one ask for?
You are lucky Elpidio to be allowed to work in such a place.
You should try the real world. You should try St. Antonio Clinic or Hospital de Jesus here in Lisbon...
