Hi Mike,

my respect! you put here some interesting aspects to the group.

See the veterans based kis system what is now open source (Vista -
Worldvista) It is MUMPS based. Cache/M MUMPS based are mostly used in
the United States. In Germany we know one system that use it too. The
company is named Medos AG.

At one of the first conferences HIS/RIS/PACS workshop in Giessen we
Elpidio and i had some contact to the leaders of this company.
(see a picture there:
http://web9.gotodoc.com/gallery/album01/00000037_G ).

I looked since this time a little bit at MUMPS based systems. I
conected the World Vista people at Open Source Health Care Alliance
OSHCA meeting that take place last year United Nations WSIS in Geneva.
I meet them in Tunis again.

The idea of mine is to coordinate and to do a collaboration.

Do you see some possibilities?
Keep attention of the analisis of the Portuguese government that was
posted by Dr. Antas in a earlier mail to this list.
The government there did analize World Vista and Care2x.

Regards

Wilfried
