Hello

as developer of iPath I can maybe add a few words on this.

I opened the iPath on localhost and installation of the database was very easy. I then added some 20 translations to the XML language file, (very easy, BTW) but somehow I didn't have root permission to store the changes as an external file (or at least update the file) and lost the translation :0(

You don't really lose the translation. They are stored in the database as well. The external files are only necessary for the xslt translations and for transporting language files from one server to another.

To save the files, all you need to do is to grant the webserver write-privilege to the locale driectory (in the ipath directory)

(please note, iPath-2 is still in development and has yet a number of bugs, but a stable version is almost finished. I am sure Jorge will again bundle it into this XAMPP package)

best regards
Kurt
