Care2x is clearly not dead, and clearly continues to exist. However there is a point here in that there are many "sub-projects" of Care2x going on around the world and the code is not finding its way back in to the main line here.
This means that releases on sourceforge are infrequent and updates to sourceforge svn are infrequent giving an impression of a lack of activity, when the reality is a lot of activity. Maybe more needs to be done to bring these other projects code into sourceforge.
