Hi Terry,
a few wild guesses - have you looked into graphics problems? Have you
installed the OpenGL-drivers for your graphics card, and what card are you
using? Did you do a full install from the official caret homepage? You can
check your OpenGL install using visualinfo from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/glew/glew-1.3.3-win32.zip?download
Run visualinfo.exe, which will create visualinfo.txt. This file should tell
you if and what version of OpenGL is installed.
