Hi Donna,
Yes, after I opened up the spec file, I saw that all the scenes were
being loaded.
Following the tutorial, I then selected, by double-clicking, a
particular scene (inflated lateral view, the very top one) among "all
the scenes". in the D/C menu.
Then, it hung and eventually spitted out "out of memory" message" That
was resolved after I removed the Korean language package and
I could see the inflated lateral view (or others) when I did the
exactly same step.
Let me know if I'm not still understanding your questions.
Thanks,
YSL

Hi YSL,
Forgive my persistence, but when I read "I did select the scene, but
couldn't get it loaded until I uninstalled Korean language package," I
think of selecting the scene in the context of loading it when you
opened the spec file, and that context is different than the one I mean
below.
Normally, if a spec file has a scene in it, when you open the spec file,
you can press the "Load scenes" button, and then Caret reads the scene
file. The scene file has potentially several scenes, as it does in your
case. The scene file loaded fine, because your capture shows a bunch of
scenes listed in the D/C window.
So you now have a bunch of scenes *loaded* but none displayed. To
display one, you select the desired scene from the D/C menu and either
press Show Selected Scene, or double-click it. Only then does it
actually display.
From your answers below, and the screen capture most recently sent, it
seemed you *loaded* the scene, but did not double-click one of the D/C
menu listed scenes, or press the Show Selected Scene button on the D/C menu.
It is worth resolving this issue before looking for other sources of the
problem.

James had a theory about what caused this issue and he was right.
Thanks for your answer, though.

Hi YSL,
What you are seeing is normal -- until you double-click on one of the
scenes, or press the Show Selected Scene, since the first scene is
already selected.
Did you do that?

Thanks, John.
I did as you suggested, but it won't still load the image.
The only difference after I enabled "Debug", a bunch of stuff will
show up in the Dos windows
I was trying to copy all what it shows, but don't know how to copy and
paste in the dos window, so I just did screen capture and it is enclosed.

My only guess is that one of the data files is corrupted.
Go to the File Menu and select Preferences. Go to the Debug Tab and
check the box next to Debug Enabled. Now load your spec file and its
data files. As files are loaded, they will be listed in the DOS
window. What is printed in the window (screen capture)?

Dear Caret users,
I'm a newbie for the caret.
I get an "out of memory" error message when loading an inflated,
lateral view after opening PALS_B12.RIGHT.DEMO.scene in the tutorial
folder.
As my pc has 4GB memory and it is a brand new workstation, I'm not
sure why this is not capable of loading the file.
I even tried again after turning off all other softwares but caret,
but still didn't work.
Enclosed is the screen shot in case it might be helpful.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
YSL
