Is this the LUT_NAMES, where the ordinal position of the paint name indicates 
the associated intensity/label?

Don't know, but they must have some means of mapping color to intensity/label.  
It might be through a freesurfer-like LUT .txt file.  I think I once found one 
for the TTatlas that comes with the AFNI distribution.  I'm not sure where I 
got this:

It's worth posting to the AFNI message board 
(http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/afni/community/board) about this.  Someone like Rick 
Reynolds can probably point you in the right direction.
