Hi Jefe, I had issues trying to use Mapserver 5.4 and PostGIS 1.3 (a couple of new map file enforcements for 5.4), so I would avoid 5.4 starting out. Mapserver 5.2. and as Bruno mentions, PostGIS 1.3 are working for us.
