Here is a brief overview of our problem:

Sirsi's Web2 product is a proprietary online library catalog that
creates a user session via a macro of some sort, then tracks that
session with a URL variable. This enables our users to log in once,
then perform multiple tasks that require validation - for example,
searching for books and placing holds on them.

When a user leaves the Web2 interface to visit another part of our site,
the software ends their session. This has become a problem for us
because we are using a second proprietary catalog software, called
Aquabrowser, which has better search functionality. A typical user
would start in Aquabrowser, find the desired book, then drill down to an
iframe which displays content from Web2 containing more details about
the book.

We want users to be able to pass between Web2 and Aquabrowser freely,
without spawning extraneous sessions or forcing them to log in
repeatedly if they want to place holds on more than one book. Web2 is
compatible with Perl APIs. Aquabrowser is largely written in ASP.

Thanks,

Laura

Most of us are probably not familiar with the product. Can you give us a
brief overview of the project from a technical perspective?

Cheers,
Scott

Does anyone have any experience using CAS with SirsiDynix's Web2

wondering what kind of hurtles we will encounter when integrating it
with our library's web catalog. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
