We are in for a 1.0.9 release on 12/6!!!

We will be merging the curl branch to trunk this week, and tag a 1.0.9
from there.

One caveat, though -- support for m-a-c on Windows needs some TLC from
someone with MS VC++ expertise (or MinGW, if it can be done!). The
m-a-c developers (Phil and me) no longer have local need for m-a-c on
Windows, nor the developer resources to keep it maintained, so unless
someone volunteers, m-a-c 1.0.8.1 may be the last release supported on
Windows.

We will include notice that Windows users should continue to use 1.0.8.1.
