We had spoke about this after the Multi-Factor calls ended.

I'd recommend IRC be available for use any time (with possibly dedicated
weekly chats).  I'd use phone calls less frequently (i.e. monthly).  Though
that's partially for selfish reasons since its easier for me to be in a chat
than leave the office to do a phone call.
