Please deprecate rather than remove. I currently use replicated OpenLDAP for 
the service registry on a CAS cluster (3.5.1). I'd like it to be available in 
some manner until one is available using ldaptive. I don't have project time to 
contribute code however.

That would be a gentler solution, but there's a tradeoff to consider 
with respect to dependencies. Removal allows us to drop the Spring LDAP 
dependency entirely. Perhaps we should poll the community for feedback.
