We run on ESXi + Redhat 5.1. We built a barebones redhat linux install then installed Redhat's apache, tomcat and openjDK rpm's.

(Current getting ready for a school wide roll out later this summer) We are running two boxes with: - Dom0 host, CentOS5.3 x86_64, 8GB ram, 8 cores - DomU guest, with 4 GB allocated (for starters), flat file virtual filesystem, and 4 virtual cpu's (for starters) Guest OS install is as plain as possible (no gui, no dev tools, really only ssh for management and not much else other then the basic necessities). We do not use the tomcat/java from RHEL, but the plain download of Tomcat 6 and Java from their respective sites. We use repcache for the clustering between the two, and a loadbalancing switch. Not sure if this is useful.
