Have you ensured that there's nothing wrong with the container running CAS?
I.e. have you done a "kill -3" to make sure nothing is blocked?  Because as
Marvin said, there generally aren't any hanging issues with CAS.  The only
exception is generally if there are issues with other resources and threads
are blocked.
