I have to second this bit that CAS-ifying Exchange directly (or in my experience **convincing and working** with the Exchange admins to do so can be frustrating and painless.
As a result the primary method we use in our myCampus/Quicklaunch SSO bit is to leverage clearpass and then proxy user credentials. Not as pure, but much easier (easier = possible) to setup.
