I think David gave you some pretty sound advice, which summarizes as "We don't know since it mostly depends on you, your environment, your needs, and those on whose behalf you are working." You would be well served to take that advice to heart. In your words you are "completely lost" setting up CAS without sufficient knowledge or experience of Java, servlets, Spring, and Maven2. It's very understandable that you should feel this way as CAS requires knowledge in those areas. That said, the cas-user list is the wrong place to provide the background you'll need to complete your task. You should probably take some time away from this list and try to educate yourself in some of the foundational technologies that CAS uses. Then you'll be better informed and prepared to ask questions about CAS that we can help answer.
