We appreciate your recommendations for improving documentation, and we have made recent efforts to audit and consolidate a number of areas, which seems to be in the spirit of your comments. While I agree that there are many improvements yet to be made, I hope you'll be patient with our efforts to improve documentation. Because the wiki is a community document, it both benefits and suffers from a number of contributors. What's clearly lacking is an editorial staff to consolidate, update, and remove items with the aim of a unified body of documentation that is complete, concise, and well-organized. A recent proposal was put forth for a "Documentation Coordinator" position to manage a small team with the editorial mandate I mentioned. I sincerely believe a dedicated editorial team is needed to address the shortcomings you mentioned.
