We have everything ready to go but haven't pulled the trigger in
production yet. Does that count? We currently use Shib fronted by
CAS and that works well but frankly CAS handles load better than Shib
in our environment, which is the driving force for using CAS directly.
(In fairness we haven't optimized Shib for performance nearly as much
as CAS.)

Nope. If CAS goes down, we're in deep doo-doo. It's pretty close to
the bottom of our Web application dependency tree, and going further
down monthly as more things build on top of it. We are working,
albeit slowly and IMO half-heartedly, on a business continuity plan
that involves CAS instances offsite that could be brought online in
the case of a site-wide outage.
