This is a product that we ship to customers. Customers can install multiple instances of this product in their environment to scale out. Now I need to build a configuration option into the product, through which, customer can enable SSO between these instances.

Typically for an enterprise, there's a single logical CAS installation (commonly clustered, but still a single logical CAS server). For a very large enterprise that's spread out geographically, multiple CAS instances begin to make sense. What factors led to your present architecture?
