Thanks for your help! I think we will try and keep the solution as clean
and according to standard as possible and setup an Apache RP with
mod_cas and handle the verifications there before sending a header
through to the adapter which will then create a usersession for the
application. Good thing to know about that Forms requirement though!

Not advised. That code was developed before we got Scott Holodak on
board, who identified a number of significant problems with that
module in terms of how it integrated into the HttpModule pipeline.
While you might find it meets your needs, you'd likely be better
served in the long getting the existing module to work with Forms Auth.
