I might add that you should try testing the integration with a different
browser. IE may hung sometimes on redirect loops while FF and Chrome would
tell you more. A redirect loop which would have the browser hung
indefinitely is sometimes caused by SSL trust issues, if you are using
self signed certs.

When I access the resource I am presented with the CAS SSO login screen as
desired. However there is no return url appended. Also in the audit
trail/logs i can see that there is no service url provided to CAS. Though
I have mentioned server url as shown on official client page and it says
that it is used to generate return URL but it doesn't doing it's job. 

Sounds like a config problem. We'll need more info to help further. Please
enable .NET tracing in the client as described in the Tracing section of
https://wiki.jasig.org/display/CASC/.Net+Cas+Client, then post relevant
logs.  Also your Web.config file would be helpful.
