Hi Larry, For how many user the single server can hold, for example we have 58000 students and 4000 faculty member, or how can i calculate the amount memory.
We are still in testing environment and we will go live using CAS by 15/01/2013, we have a single VM with 8 GB of memory, 4 core CPU and 100 GB HD. Also we a second VM holding the MYSQL database for CAS management service. is this enough to hold the above number of users. The short version is that any halfway-decent recent server you've got is fine. Really. CAS runs on commodity server hardware, no worries. I like isolating CAS from other applications on principle, but if you wanted it would almost certainly run fine alongside anything else you've got on any server you're already running. CAS doesn't do much. Needs some RAM to store the ticker registry. Needs some disk to write log files. You're probably offloading SSL to something in front of it so it doesn't even have much CPU load. What is the minimal system requirements for it?
