Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the forum for my rudimentary questions on CAS so, you'll have to forgive me! I am a librarian (who doesn't come from a technical background) and I have been tasked with investigating the starting points for settings up CAS authentication. We have just invested in a new resource discovery platform called Enterprise (SirsiDynix) for the library and we would like a seamless integration between the club's website and our new discovery platform, so members won't have to sign-in twice. SirsiDynix are only unable to provide us with information on setting-up a CAS server, which we've been told by one of their consultants would be required. Has anyone had experience with setting-up a server for CAS? Does the server need to be a stand-alone (separate) server or can we use an existing server (assuming space)? We have approximately 17,000 user records in our library database - how should we determine the what size the server should be? Does setting-up a CAS server require any specific software and if so are these freely available and straightforward to configure? Can someone recommend any specialist companies who specialise in CAS integration? I hope someone can help or possibly point me in the direction of where I can find the answers... Many thanks!
