Dear CAS Community,

I'm forwarding a message from the JA-SIG Board of Directors about their new
membership program. The program, started this year, provides a number of
benefits, the most important being that organizations, like yours, who
invest in JA-SIG products such CAS, can be assured that their investment
will be sustained and continue to grow.

Take a look over the letter, and find out whether your organization can
contribute back to the community by joining the program. If you have any
questions or concerns, please contact the JA-SIG Board of Directors, as
directed in the letter.

Thanks!
-Scott

To the CAS Community-

As you know, CAS is a project that is sponsored by JA-SIG, a global
consortium of higher education institutions and corporations dedicated to
sharing open technologies and applications among ourselves and the larger
community. After seven years, JA-SIG has adopted a membership model to help
us sustain our current projects and incubate new ones, cooperate and
integrate more fully with other efforts, broaden international
participation, and share organizational governance.

Information about Institutional Membership and Commercial
Affiliation—including a description of benefits and download links for
membership applications—may be found on our website:
www.ja-sig.org/membership. The annual cost of membership is modest and, for
institutions, is scaled according to operating budget size (see the
application for more information).

If your organization finds CAS to be a useful component of your technology
infrastructure, and if you appreciate the value of shared community effort
in the interests of open source development, please help support our efforts
by urging your organization to join JA-SIG. Initiatives like ours require
community commitment—through code development, through sharing and helping,
and through organizational support.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. You can send
general queries about membership to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or email me
directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

On behalf of the JA-SIG Board of Directors, thanks in advance for your
consideration.

Best regards,
Jonathan Markow
JA-SIG Board Chair
