Hi,

I try to load mod_auth_cas into Apache. Doing it in my Local machine and
in some other machine (both with XP) was successful, but when trying to
load it on 2 Windows Server 2003 machines, I got the following error
message when starting Apache: "This application has failed to start
because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the
application may fix this problem". Very useful. Nothing in the Apache
logs.

The only way I got it to work on the 2003 machines is by installing
Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition, available at
http://www.microsoft.com/express/vc/... I uninstall it and it still
works, so I thought maybe there's some dll or registry entry or
something else added by this installation that is not removed when
uninstalling and is required for mod_auth_cas in runtime.

I am not really sure that the only difference between the XP machines
and the 2003 is the OS. The key question is what is it that mod_auth_cas
needs that is missing on those machines?

any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Moshe.
