The wiki instructions you followed were slightly wrong. Setting initboot
to usb boot makes it impossible to stop the u-boot boot process, which
is useful if you want to change kernel etc.

Luckily you should be able to clear the u-boot environment from linux as
follows:
dd if=/dev/zero bs=1024 count=256 | tr "\000" "\377" > /dev/mtdblock4

After you reboot you should be able to setup u-boot as set-out in the
roach getting started guide:
http://casper.berkeley.edu/wiki/Roach_getting_started <about:blank>
