That part is definitely true -- if only from the "if it ain't broke, don't 
fix it"

Basically because I'm a geek.  :-)

I sysadmin all my machines (including my pulsar search cluster) just 
because I enjoy doing it.  And I've run Debian (or now Ubuntu, a Debian 
derivative) for about 15 years straight.  I really like its package 
management system and the fact that there are _huge_ numbers of packages 
supported by default.  Plus I obviously know it very well by now (and I 
don't know RHEL well at all).
