For those interested in future CASPER correlator developments, and the next generation hardware that will enable these large correlators, I have posted an updated ROACH2 block diagram at http://casper.berkeley.edu/wiki/ROACH2 . The most prominent change over the original specs (from the 2009 workshop) is that ROACH will have no onboard 10GbE connectors. Instead, mezzanine cards can be bolted-on with SFP+, CX4 or RJ45 ports. It can support up to 16 10GbE ports (using RXAUI; nice for beamforming). These connectors will also support daughterboards with newwer high-speed ADCs that use SERDES output.

I have posted a page outlining how the correlator's requirements drove ROACH2's specifications here: http://casper.berkeley.edu/wiki/ROACH2_packetised_correlator_sizing
