I think there's more to a yellow block that pin assignments. In the
case of the ADC blocks (at least the ones I'm familiar with), clocks
are also brought in through the "yellow block" and the toolflow needs
to be able to hook one of those clocks up as the system generator
clock. For the original "iADC" boards, the ADC chip was configured
by the PPC via a three-wire interface so there were additional
interface requirements there as well.
