hi Garcia, Windows 7 (32 bits), is not currently suported by xilinx ISE10.1 . you will not have acces to all the tools.
with Win7, You can make some trick, specially during the setup of your Xilinx ISE tools. But I'll recommend you to use WinXP instead(to compile your mdl design). there is no need to move to linux if you use a 32bit computer. But one day you will probably need a linux OS(centos or ubuntu) when you will try to play in depth your Roach board . With WinXP you will have to be sure that your python, will accept all the package needed when you'll have to interact with your Roach. from my experience I'll recommend you to start with a linux configuration. May be someone here who uses WinXP not only for compiling, can tell us how they managed to setup all the python package.(i'm interested also). For my case: I've 2 computer 1 with a 32bit WinXP, the second one with a 64bit Linux.
