Hi Louis,
The only blocks that should care whether you're using a ROACH or an
IBOB are the XSG core config block where you select the hardware
platform and the GPIO blocks where you choose the IO group. Any of
the internal logic blocks should work with no changes... Can you
confirm that it's actually the mux block giving you this error?
Thanks,
Henry

Hello Henry,
Thanks! This in fact fixed it. Simulink stopped shooting me
the errors. Can't believe this got past me! When I tried to re-run the
simulation after fixing this I got error saying that the mux (Xilinx Bus
Multiplexer) block needs to driven by an iBOB generator...not a ROACH
one... are there any alternative blocks that I could use in its place
that would also work with Roach? Or is it more likely the case that I
won't be able to complete this tutorial without the actual iBOB board?

Hi Louis,
This error means that you're trying to assign a bit position beyond
that supported by the particular IO group. In this case, it's because
the ROACH only has 4 user-accessible LEDs, while the IBOB has 8. So
if you just take out the slices that are giving you trouble, it should
be okay.
Cheers,
Henry

Hello,
I'm trying to get through the IBOB
tutorial...just
to get a bunch of led's lit up. Near the end of designing the model,
when trying to link up 8 slices and gpio blocks i get an error. The
first three sets of slices and gpio's don't give me any
trouble..however
when I get to the fourth set I get a dialogue box with the
following:
"Gateway bit index contain values that exceeds the bitwidth."
What exactly is it that I'm doing wrong?
ps. This tutorial is originally meant for the iBOB ..but I'm using a
Roach board....I read that simply switching out iBOB:led to
ROACH:led on
the registers should suffice...but that may incorrect.
Thanks a bunch for the help!
