The two GPIO banks are labelled "led" and "gpio" in the yellow block. You do not need to set any direction buffers as with ROACH1, though as a result, the voltage levels are somewhat different as they come straight out of the FPGA (lower, LVCMOS15 if memory serves).
"led" is the 8 bit GPIO bank that is hard wired together with the eight onboard LEDs, aka P15/FPGA GPIO/LEDs. "gpio" is the 8 bit bank P13/FPGA GPIO. I have noticed that the schematics on the wiki are outdated (rev 0) and that the ROACH2 stuff still isn't up on github (https://github.com/ska-sa/). I will chat with the relevant people to try'n get this fixed later today so that you have the actual schematics.
