Potential candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field, must demonstrate a strong track record in one of the key research areas in the department, and must also be an expert in the development of innovative computational methods in handling large experimental and/or modeling data sets. Currently, the physics department has 18 tenured/tenure-track faculty members with research focusing on Biophysics, Materials Science, Optics and Solar/Terrestrial Astrophysics. The potential candidate must also be able to effectively teach physics at the undergraduate and graduate level.
