I recently upgraded my CASPER tools to the latest and greatest versions
(Xilinx 14.4 and Matlab 2012b) as well as the latest SKA-SA mlib_devel
libraries. As a sanity check I downloaded and recompiled tutorial 3
from here:
https://github.com/casper-astro/tutorials_devel/blob/master/tut3/tut3.slx
I had to replace the even and odd BRAM blocks, but other than that it
appeared to compile just fine. However when I run the bof file I read
all zeros back from the even and odd registers. If I keep everything
else constant and just change the mlib_devel library to this branch
(http://astro.berkeley.edu/~davidm/mlib_devel.git/) I get a reasonable
spectrum out but with a peak that corresponds to the FPGA clock
frequency. If I use the precompiled bof file here
(https://github.com/casper-astro/tutorials_devel/blob/master/tut3/tut3.bof)
the FPGA clock frequency peak disappears.
Can I get some assistance here? First off, it appears that the lastest
ska_sa libraries aren't compatible with the latest tutorial3 files.
Second does anyone know why I'd have clock frequency peaks from one
compile to the next?
Thanks,
Jason Castro
