Thanks a lot Ryan! It was precisely the capitalized letter in my file name that 
caused the problems!

Yup, look to see if you have numbers or capital letters in your mdl file.  I 
don't remember what it was, but for some cases, XSG silently renames the output 
netlist in a way that casper_xps does not recognize
