Hi, I was having issues with complex ROACH 2 designs stalling out during the XSG synthesis phase of the toolflow, where the machine would sit there for days and not make any progress. Mark Wagner suggested I increase the Java Heap Size, which I did, and knock on wood, things seem to be working much better.
To do this, open Matlab preferences and in the list on the left below the General heading is Java Heap Memory. The slider defaulted to about 160 MB on this particular machine. I bumped it up to 4 GB (since the machine has 32 GB of ram), and the performance seems much better. Just passing this along in case it helps anyone else. Glenn
