Recently I gave a talk at the GPU Technology Conference in San Jose. The talk concerned the challenge of searching for pulsars using the Square Kilometre Array. After the talk I was approached by John Princen, who is the vice chair of the Santa Clara chapter of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. He was very interested in the signal processing challenges that we deal with in radio astronomy and was eager to have someone present some work at an IEEE SPS meeting. Is there anyone on this mailing list who would be interested in giving such a talk in Santa Clara? The topic would be of course be up to you, but should revolve around high performance signal processing challenges, particularly with regards to future astronomical observatories.
