Hi CASPERites, In recent versions of Vivado on Ubuntu 18.04 (and probably some other versions) you might find you run into an error about the sysgen GUI timing out when opening a model. You might get the same error when trying to double-click Xilinx blocks in simulink, or maybe an error about recursion in the gui function calls.
Googling will lead you to countless Xilinx forum posts blaming you for using an unsupported OS / Vivado / MATLAB combination. But it's not -- and (in my experience with MATLAB 2019a / Vivado 2019.1 / Ubuntu 18.04) can be solved as per https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/AI-Engine-DSP-IP-and-Tools/Error-using-System-Generator/m-p/900941 (i.e., install KDE). gotta love Xilinx.
