IMO we should first perform the steps described by Mauricio here <http://groups.google.com/group/castle-project-devel/msg/61e36a51de41c6fd?hl=en>so we have a clean migration to Git. If we don't the migration looks just very sloppy. Once a project has been moved over in this way it can abandon svn.
